OUR LOCATIONS

WORKING SURROUNDED BY GREENERY

Where are we?

Very close to you! After all, through our dense network of around 2,000 stores, we make sure that families all over Germany, Austria and the Netherlands can shop for cheerful fashion and accessories in their neighbourhood. These stores are supplied with new products every two days, which our employees at three locations arrange: at our distribution centres in Coesfeld-Lette and Klieken and our regional centre in Schwarzenbek.

It all started at our head office in Coesfeld-Lette: and today, not far from the birthplace of our company founder Kurt Ernsting, our employees are busy designing, accounting, marketing and dispatching. And living too – as nowhere else can life, work and leisure be combined quite as well as here in Münsterland.

OUR MAIN BUILDING

“Architecture is there for people” – this was one of the guiding principles of our company founder Kurt Ernsting. It was extremely important to him that all employees feel comfortable at work and that the architecture should make a major contribution to that end. The service centre was designed by the English architect David Chipperfield and is located in the middle of a park that invites you to stroll and while away the time.

OUR CREATIVE CENTRE

In collaboration with the architectural firm David Chipperfield Architects Berlin, the Creative Centre was built on our campus, which fits seamlessly into our campus site with its flexible space concept and high-quality architecture. As the name suggests, the building is used by the creative departments at Ernsting's family, who work hand in hand to develop new collections and products - from the initial idea to the delivery of the goods. This includes the Design, Category Management, Quality Development, Procurement and Procurement Logistics departments.

Further impressions from our new Creative Centre

Welcome to the Creative Centre

The Creative Centre is home to all colleagues who work together on the development of our collections and product ranges. The spacious and modern architecture offers our most creative colleagues a great deal of freedom and is perfectly tailored to the needs of the departments.

160 workstations

The Creative Centre is home to a total of around 160 workstations as well as two management offices and consists of a ground floor and a basement. The centrepiece of the building, which was inaugurated in 2024, is an open-plan office space on the ground floor, where the various departments have their respective work areas.

Space for networking

Numerous coffee hubs and seating areas invite you to exchange ideas, network or take a short break with colleagues.

Modern Bistro

For refreshment and relaxation during lunch breaks, employees have access to a modern bistro that seats 94 and offers predominantly Mediterranean cuisine.

FIVE GOOD REASONS TO LIVE IN MÜNSTERLAND

Romantic

FORTRESSES & CASTLES

Simply magnificent! In Münsterland you can discover more than 150 fortresses, castles, moated castles, manor houses and moated farming estates – and of course the best way to do this is by bike! As majority of these impressive edifices are located directly on or in the immediate vicinity of what is known as the “Queen of Cycle Routes”, the 100 Castles Route, which meanders like a green ribbon through the flat Münsterland park landscape. Whether it’s the “Westphalian Versailles” (Nordkirchen Castle) or Vischering Castle, the most important moated castle in Westphalia – in Münsterland you can experience pure history!

Urban

MÜNSTER

Once Münster, always Münster – the slogan of many Münster locals and those who call themselves locals by choice. The Westphalian metropolis, which has been able to call itself “the most liveable city in the world” since 2004, impresses with its mixture of urbanity and cosiness, international students and Westphalian “institutions” and, last but not least, its historic old town and green parks. Münster’s strong commitment to environmental and climate protection has also repeatedly put it on the winners’ podium at national and international competitions, as demonstrated by the large number of awards in the “Climate action and quality of life” category.

LEEZEN LOVE!

Münsterland’s residents share a great love for their bikes, known colloquially as Leezen. In the city of Münster alone, there are 500,000 bicycles for the around 310,000 inhabitants and the network of routes for cyclists stretches over more than 4,500 kilometres with numerous themed routes in a honeycomb pattern across the entire Münsterland. These routes take you to impressive sights, picturesque town centres, unspoilt landscapes or follow the numerous rivers in Münsterland. The cycle routes are mostly flat, but never boring. And if you’re looking for a few metres in elevation gain for your bike tour, you’ll find them in the Baumberge and Tecklenburger Land.

Delicious

PANCAKES, PINKUS, PUMPERNICKEL

Down-to-earth and hearty – that’s how Münsterland likes to eat. The most traditional dishes include specialities such as Töttchen (a meat stew that used to be prepared with offal) and Pfefferpotthast (a stewed beef dish with potatoes and sour pickles).  The region also serves hearty stews with regional vegetables such as rapini, broad beans and various types of cabbage as well as typical Westphalian potato pancakes. Numerous rustic restaurants and pubs offer Westphalian specialities, which are often served with a slice of pumpernickel and a strong Pinkus Pils.

FAVOURITE PLACES FOR FAMILIES

Whether it’s a picnic in one of the many castle gardens, a bike tour on the flat paths where children’s bikes roll all by themselves or a trip to one of the many play and hands-on parks – there is so much for families to experience in Münsterland. You can marvel at animals in wildlife enclosures such as the Nöttler Berg or the Allwetterzoo Münster as well as free-roaming wild horses in Dülmen. Curious young minds can deepen their knowledge in the exciting LWL Römermuseum and Museum of Natural History and people of all ages can discover the colourful nature and adventure playgrounds in the former state garden show grounds at Vier-Jahreszeiten-Park Oelde. Children’s smiles guaranteed!

OUR REGIONAL CENTRE IN SCHWARZENBEK

Despite having a population of just under 16,000, the European city (Europastadt) of Schwarzenbek is a central transport hub in northern Germany. Not only Hamburg, which is in the immediate vicinity, but also Berlin, Lübeck, Lüneburg, Flensburg and Rostock can be reached quickly from here via the nearby motorways and federal roads. Today, we supply around 200 stores from our unconventionally designed regional centre and employ around 18 people in logistics and as lorry drivers.
