As an IT Specialist for System Integration in Coesfeld-Lette you will get to know the world of IT at Ernsting’s family especially well, as you will have the opportunity to get involved in many different processes and projects. Are you interested in IT systems, and would you like to help operate and manage them? Then join us and help shape Ernsting’s family. 

During your apprenticeship, you can expect a variety of assignments in our User Service and System Administration departments, where you will learn everything about the hardware and software that we use. You will be on hand to help install, maintain and troubleshoot our systems and networks, whether it’s for the retail staff in our stores or your colleagues at the headquarters or in Logistics.

WHAT AWAITS YOU IN YOUR APPRENTICESHIP

FOCUS ON THE SOLUTION

As an internal service provider, our IT departments ensures that our hardware and software run smoothly. This not only includes the installation and maintenance of devices and systems, but also rectifying faults and other problems. Our IT is networked both digitally and personally in all areas of the company – we communicate a lot and well here.

CRAZY FOR TECHNOLOGY

You and your colleagues will look after 600 PC workstations, approximately 2,000 checkout systems, 400 tablets, as well as other technical accessories at the company headquarters. Our two data centres in Coesfeld-Lette ensure smooth operations 24 hours a day. Their power is essential to us, as the network structure and most of the servers are connected to them.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

In addition to your apprenticeship, we also support you with your personal development. You will learn how to cooperate and communicate with colleagues and external partners in a trusting way, how to organise your tasks, and how to act independently and in a future-oriented way. Your personal development is also complemented by seminars, smaller projects and events.

INTERESTING PROJECTS

In addition to user support, project work will become the focus of your daily work in the third year of your training. Whether it’s a team project or if you’re working alone, new topics and ideas are being implemented by our IT department all the time.

HAVE YOUR SAY, PARTICIPATE, SHAPE THINGS

Your ideas and opinions are always welcome. We look forward to discussing with you and hearing new input from you! So that you can contribute directly at Ernsting’s family, you will also be given your own small projects and learn to take on an increasing degree of responsibility for your tasks. You can also help shape your apprenticeship individually and together with other apprentices.

After your apprenticeship, there are many paths you can take in your future career. When you finish your apprenticeship, we will take the time to look at what the next steps in your career could be together with you.

DURATION OF YOUR APPRENTICESHIP

Three years (under certain conditions a reduction is possible, we will be happy to assess on an individual basis)

APPRENTICESHIP LOCATIONS

Headquarters (Hugo-Ernsting-Platz 1, 48653 Coesfeld-Lette) and Pictorius vocational college in Coesfeld (one to two days per week)

WORKING HOURS AND HOLIDAYS

37.5 hours per week and 30 holidays per year

START OF APPRENTICESHIP

Start in August, next apprenticeship start: 2026

HOW THE APPRENTICESHIP IS STRUCTURED

In the first three years of your apprenticeship, you will learn about the various areas of User Service and System Administration at Ernsting’s family. We will draw up an individual assignments plan for you which will naturally include your ideas.

In the third year of your apprenticeship you’ll spend your specialisation year in a department that you particularly enjoyed working in during the first two years of your training. Drawing on your personal views, your feedback interviews after each departmental assignment and the advice from our training and development team, we will find the perfect department for you and the third year of your apprenticeship. 

You will also learn all the necessary technical and background knowledge that you will need to work as an IT Specialist for System Integration at vocational college. Your apprenticeship will be rounded off with a variety of internal seminars, events and workshops. 

 

SUPPORT DURING YOUR APPRENTICESHIP

MENTORS FROM THE APPRENTICE COMMUNITY

In the first year of your apprenticeship you have a second year mentor who is there to help and advise you. You therefore have a mentor who was in a similar situation to you last year.

In every department there is at least one trainer who is there for you throughout your apprenticeship!
