As a Specialist for Digitalisation Management you will get to know the world of IT at Ernsting’s family especially well, as you will have the opportunity to get involved in many different processes and IT projects. Do you find IT systems and digitalisation particularly fascinating, and are you also interested in the world of commerce? Then join us and help shape Ernsting’s family. 

During your apprenticeship, you can expect a variety of training assignments in our IT administration and other areas of IT as well as our commercial departments, where you will learn all about the digitalisation of our business processes, the coordination and processing of IT licences and contracts as well as IT security.

WHAT AWAITS YOU IN YOUR APPRENTICESHIP

IT LICENCES AND CONTRACTS

We purchase various licences to allow us to use both systems and software. This requires you and your team to draw up, review and manage contracts. At the same time, you will keep an eye on the terms, extensions and cancellation periods and enter into negotiations with the contractual partners.

IT CONTROLLING

As part of the team, you will be keeping an eye on the financial affairs of the IT department. You will manage and plan the IT budget and sometimes be required to check and approve an invoice.

IT SECURITY COMES FIRST

Data protection plays a very important role also at our company. You and your team will ensure compliance with and review of the data protection measures in the company and the stores, so as to protect the personal data of our employees and customers.

IT PROJECTS

You and your team will participate in a variety of IT projects. As part of the IT administration team, you will help coordinate topics such as budgets, licences and data protection with our departments.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

In addition to your apprenticeship, we also support you with your personal development. You will learn how to cooperate and communicate with colleagues and external partners in a trusting way, how to organise your tasks, and how to act independently and in a future-oriented way. Your personal development is also complemented by seminars, smaller projects and events.

HAVE YOUR SAY, PARTICIPATE, SHAPE THINGS

Your ideas and opinions are always welcome. We look forward to discussing with you and hearing new input from you! So that you can contribute directly at Ernsting’s family, you will also be given your own small projects and learn to take on an increasing degree of responsibility for your tasks. You can also help shape your apprenticeship individually and together with other apprentices.

After your apprenticeship, there are many paths you can take in your future career. When you finish your apprenticeship, we will take the time to look at what the next steps in your career could be together with you.

FACTS AT A GLANCE

DURATION OF YOUR APPRENTICESHIP

Three years (under certain conditions a reduction is possible, we will be happy to assess on an individual basis)

APPRENTICESHIP LOCATIONS

Headquarters (Hugo-Ernsting-Platz 1, 48653 Coesfeld-Lette) and Oswald-von-Nell-Breuning vocational college in Coesfeld (one to two days per week)

WORKING HOURS AND HOLIDAYS

37.5 hours per week and 30 holidays per year

START OF APPRENTICESHIP

Start in August, next apprenticeship start: 2028

HOW THE APPRENTICESHIP IS STRUCTURED

During your apprenticeship, you will focus on IT administration and learn the tools of the trade for working as a Specialist for Digitalisation Management. We will also draw up an individual assignments plan for you which will also include assignments in other areas.

In addition to working in IT, you will also get to know our Financial Accounting department in the interests of developing, consolidating and deepening your commercial knowledge.

You will also learn all the necessary technical and background knowledge that you will need to work as a Specialist for Digitalisation Management at vocational college. Your apprenticeship will be rounded off with a variety of internal seminars, events and workshops.

SUPPORT DURING YOUR APPRENTICESHIP

MENTORS FROM THE APPRENTICE COMMUNITY

In the first year of your apprenticeship you have a second year mentor who is there to help and advise you. You therefore have a mentor who was in a similar situation to you last year.

TRAINING STAFF IN OUR DEPARTMENTS

In every department there is at least one trainer who is there for you throughout your apprenticeship!

Do you have questions about your work, or maybe you don’t quite understand a task? Not a problem – on the contrary! In addition to your trainer, your colleagues will be happy to help you at any time.
